This is my spending for this past week, I made a pie chart so I can have a clear visual on what I spend my money on. This week I felt very deprived, and by looking at this chart I don't see how I could possibly have felt that way! My biggest expenses are still food and gas. This week I felt very lonely from staying home so much, whenever I got coffee or lunch that was during work. I'm not really sure how I can cut back any more, I actually was feeling so deprived that's why I had my impulse spending on Friday on clothes. I hate how much money I spend on gas, and I have a very small and economic car. I spent $276 for one person for a week, am I crazy?

Nancy,
Do you have to buy lunches and dinners? If you started bringing them from home, that could cut on some of the expenses.Just my 2 cents :)
ReplyDeleteI know I really need to do that. For some reason I really cut back on buying coffee out and that is my smallest expense. I should probably give myself slack on the coffee as long as I cut out the other expenses.
DeleteFood is a BIG expense of mine! I need to eat in more.
ReplyDeleteMe too! It's such a struggle for me.
DeleteI echo what Michelle said. I desperately need to eat in more. I'm slipping into a bad habit with eating out.
ReplyDeleteYeah that's my ultimate downfall! can't step away from the restaurant.
DeleteSome weeks are better than others... we're doing good this week so far, have hardly spent! We'll see how it shapes up come Thursday...
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear! I will be following your no spend tips for this week. I really need to save, specially after me spending like it was 1999 this past week.
DeleteI know how you feel... I also feel deprived at the end of the week and end up going impulse shopping on the weekend :P
ReplyDeleteIt's so difficult! That deprivation feeling really eats you up! I bought two totally useless things and thankfully the guilt from buying them halted any more clothes spending!
DeleteI had the exact same thing happen about the boredom spending. Hope we both have a better spending week!
ReplyDeleteFood is a bigger expense than it actually should be, and it's gets more and more expensive each year. This is why I eat out far less now. It's OK to eat dinners out 3 or 4 times per month. You still will have saved on your dinner budget. As far as lunches go, I would bring lunch from home, but save some money to splurge on lunch twice each month.
