So much has happened since my last post here. I moved from one major city to another, my salary grew and I got out of the serious long term relationship I was in when originally writing this blog. I grew and learned a lot in this time, but through it all I still struggled a lot with financial discipline.
Now, with a significantly higher income and more free time (single) I am ready to once and for all change my financial future. I need to tackle down my credit card debt and start checking off some of my financial life goals.
This is my updated list of goals for 2013:
Goal 1: Pay off credit card debt / running total about $2,000
Goal 2: Save $10,000 / currently at about $7,500
Goal 3: Start contributing max monthly amount towards a retirement account
Goal 4: Re-finance car loan
Goal 5: Pay off all weird debt (I owe the library and the community college - shameful)
Goal 6: Set up my own business
Goal 7: Save enough money for a down payment of a condo
Greater life goals:
Have my own business
Start non profit organization to help homeless children
Adopt a child
Own a home outright
Live comfortably
Be a millionaire by retirement
This is it! I'm back in the game, and I'm ready to start tackling these to-dos. More detailed posts are to come as I dig deeper into every issue and re-embark on this journey.
Glad to see you back :)
ReplyDeleteI like how you wrote "that's it" at the end of your goals...as if you goal was "run a mile every day." I mean those are huge and awesome goals! Glad to see you back and that you got a great raise. Sorry about the relationship. :(
